DETAILS
This work, created under the theme of crossing over various genres such as music, dance, film, literature and manga, is the world's first stage adaptation of the short science-fiction manga released in 1969 by Fujiko F Fujio, the creator of beloved Japanese classic Doraemon.
A world where the roles of the eaters and the eaten are reversed. This work sharply depicts the dilemmas of being able to communicate but unable to see eye to eye and of people unable to break away from what they view as common sense. Its biting satire and shocking ending are sure to leave a lasting impression on readers even a half century later, and to give them much to contemplate. This immortal masterpiece is choreographed, scripted and directed by Takuro Suzuki, an up-and-coming artist who received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Prize for New Artists in the Dance Division at the 75th Art Encouragement Prize in 2024. With the universal questions of the original work brought into the present by Suzuki's unique expression, this work aims to be enjoyable for all generations from children as young as four to adults.
