11 Stories―One Act Anthology

The production originally planned for the 2020/2021 season as part of the New National Theatre Tokyo's The Short Play Festival, was aimed at welcoming more people into the theatre and provide an opportunity to experience theatre in a relaxed and accessible way. It was unfortunately postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now will be re-conceptualized and presented with a new approach and renewed plans.

We will feature a mix of short plays (ranging from 20 to 45 minutes) and mid-length works (around 60 minutes). Over the course of the event, we hope to offer our audience a chance to enjoy a diverse range of performances.

A total of 11 plays are scheduled, spanning genres from classics to contemporary works from across the world. Many directors from various generations will be involved in this diverse collection. There will be plays with NNT Drama Studio on productions, and new readings of works from the NNTT's Shakespeare series.
