NNT Opera Studio "Two × 'Romeo and Juliet' " has opened at the PIT on the 30th of June.
NNT Opera Studio was founded in April 1998 as Japan's first ever theatre-affiliated training institute for those seeking a career in opera.
During the three-year period, trainee singers participate in a specially-designed programme, which includes coaching in languages, vocal techniques and acting, and are given an opportunity to appear on the stage of New National Theatre Tokyo three times a year.
This time, trainee singers entered the studio in 2016, 2017 and 2018 present the excerpt version of two Operas "I Capuleti e I Montecchi" composed by Vincenzo BELLINI, and "Roméo et Juliette" composed by Charles GOUNOD. Both of the operas are based on the famous tragedy, "Romeo and Juliet".
