World Opera Day Celebration Concert on the 25th of October
25 October 2019 marks the first ever World Opera Day!
Lots of events are planned by opera houses and companies all over the world on the day for celebration.
We are pleased to announce that New National Theatre, Tokyo is holding a concert by "Sottaku", graduates from our Opera Studio to celebrate World Opera Day. This concert is free of charge and open to everyone, those who are not familiar with the theatre or opera are especially welcome. You can also buy and enjoy drinks and snacks while listening to the music.
About World Opera Day
World Opera Day is an initiative led by three professional opera organizations: Opera America, Opera Latinoamérica and Opera Europa.
World Opera Day is an awareness campaign of the positive impact and value of Opera for society. The first ever World Opera Day will be held on 25 October 2019, with an international social media campaign and local events highlighting Opera's contribution to citizens' wellbeing.
25 October is the birthday of Georges Bizet and Johann Strauss II - composers of possibly the world's most famous opera and operetta.
