NNTT x NCPA Opera Exchange Screening (Updated on 10 January)

2022 is the year that marks the 50th Anniversary of the normalisation of Japan-China diplomatic relations. Celebrating this special year, the New National Theatre Tokyo (NNTT) and the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing decided to exchange and screen the recordings of each other's opera productions.
At the New National Theatre Tokyo, The Merry Widow and Aida staged at the NCPA will be screened.

About National Centre for the Performing Arts
Inaugurated on December 22nd, 2007, National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) is a state-level art institution based in Beijing. The NCPA adheres to the guiding principle of "for the people, for art and for the world" and established the NCPA Orchestra, Chorus, Resident Singers, Drama Ensemble and BDA Youth Dance Troupe to support its artistic endeavours.
NNTT and NCPA presented and staged the concert version of opera Aida in 2012 as an official event of the "2012 Friendship Year for Japan-China People-to-People Exchanges". NNTT and NCPA have a partnership in consideration of future cooperation and collaboration and NNTT's opera Turandot was screened at the NCPA in 2021.
