Backstage Tour at the Opera Palace (the 14th and the 29th of April)
The New National Theatre, Tokyo invites you to the backstage tour after opera and ballet performances.
You will be given an opportunity to stand on stage of the Opera Palace and to discover how the sets are constructed and see the props and costumes up close in the afterglow of the performance.
*Please note that we may not allow you on stage for some of the productions.
Schedule in January
- After the performance of the 14th April (Sun.) 14:00 Opera "Eine florentinische Tragödie / Gianni Schicchi"
- After the performance of the 29th April (Mon.) 14:00 Ballet "Cinderella"
Details
- There is only one tour for each production.
- We announce the monthly schedule of the tour prior to the event on our website.
- Only ticket holders for the particular performance date are eligible to participate the tour.
- The maximum capacity for the tour is 50. To apply, please fill in an application form distibuted before the performance. If we have received more than 50 applications, we will select the participants by lottery.
- The application will be accepted only until the start of the performance. We will then announce the names of the participants at the interval.
- If you are wearing high heel shoes, we may ask you to change into a pair of sneakers provided by us.
- Admission fee is 200 yen (Including insurance fee).
- The tour takes about 1 hour.
- Instructions during the tour are only in Japanese.
*Please note that there may be circumstances where the tour is held off at the last minute.
