Ambassadors and representatives of cultural organizations attended "Eugene Onegin"
On the 9th of October, Ambassadors and representatives of cultural organizations from 10 countries have attended the Opera performance of "Eugene Onegin".
To highlight the importance of Russian opera in the history of opera, Artistic Director of Opera ONO Kazushi has opened his second season with "Eugene Onegin".
This is the first time in 19 years for the New National Theatre, Tokyo to produce this romantic work by TCHAIKOVSKY.
This story of young people, the nihilistic intellectual Onegin and the dreamer Tatyana, confronted with love, despair and death, is woven throughout with the emotive music by TCHAIKOVSKY.
Dmitry BERTMAN, the founder and artistic director of Helikon Opera in Moscow, directed the opera with his profound knowledge for the composer and A. PUSHKIN's original novel.
Also, the cast includes Russian opera specialists such as Vasily LADYUK, who has earned a name for himself playing Onegin at Bolshoi Theatre and around the world, and Evgenia MURAVEVA, who has achieved sensational success at Salzburg Festival.
