Special Talk on "No Man's Land" was held on the 5th of October with the appearance of two leading actors EMOTO Akira and ISHIKURA Saburo, the translator KISHI Tetsuo and the director JITSUNASHI Satoru.
They talked about the playwright Harold PINTER and the challenges of tackling his work on stage.
EMOTO, the actor playing Hirst, quotes "It's as if I set off on a journey having PINTER's words to guide me. In that sense, PINTER is one of my favourite playwrights, though at this stage in rehearsal, I don't know where he is taking me."
ISHIKURA, the actor playing Spooner says, "For me, the play is very difficult to grasp, but I feel like it's part of my destiny that I've been given this opportunity to play this part at my age and very much looking forward to sharing the same stage with EMOTO."
The chemistry between these two seasoned actors were arousing our expectation for the premier.
The play "No Man's Land" will be staged from the 8th to the 25th of November at the Pit of the New National Theatre.
