Concerning a COVID-19 infection in a contractor working at the NNTT and the Cancellation of Japanese Fairy Tale Ballet for all the Family "RYUUGUU - The Turtle Princess"
As of the 29th of July, it was revealed that a contractor working at the New National Theatre, Tokyo was infected with COVID-19.
The contractor in question had a fever of at least 38°C on July 25. After convalescing at home, the contractor was examined at a medical facility on the July 28. The result of a PCR test taken at that time was confirmed positive on July 29.
Individuals who interacted with the contractor in question in meetings and the like began self-isolating at home from the time the fever was discovered.
Although we have confirmed that the contractor is not engaged in a business that would entail contact with patrons, we have decided to cancel the rest of the performances of Japanese Fairy Tale Ballet for all the Family "RYUUGUU - The Turtle Princess" (On the 30th & 31st of July) in the interests of giving the utmost priority to the safety and security of patrons and taking more thorough measures to prevent the spread of infection.
We sincerely regret any inconvenience to patrons who were looking forward to seeing the cancelled performance, and offer our deepest apologies. With regard to ticket refunds and the like, we will be in touch soon to facilitate these processes.
In addition, with regard to future performances, we will consult with public health centers and other authorities, and inform our patrons as soon as possible through our website.
At the New National Theater, Tokyo, we will continue to collaborate with public health centers and other authorities in the interests of giving the utmost priority to the safety and security of our patrons, as well as that of our staff and cast members, as we endeavor to prevent the spread of infection.
