We at the New National Theatre, Tokyo have already decided to cancel performances that had been scheduled to be held in May. At this time, we have also decided to cancel performances that were scheduled to be held in June, owing to extension of the state of emergency declaration by the Japanese government, which has made it difficult to proceed with preparations for performances.

Similarly, we have decided to cancel Educational Programme for High School Students "Yuzuru" (The Twilight Heron).
In addition, Invitational Programme for Performing Arts in the Region: Biwako Hall "Princess KAGUYA" is being cancelled on the basis of a decision by the Biwako Hall Center for the Performing Arts, Shiga.

At present, the conditions for resumption of theatrical performances remain unclear. For this reason, we have decided to temporarily suspend sales of tickets for all performances, for the time being. As for the dates for the start of future ticket sales, we are going to make a review of all pertinent factors, and will provide related information on our website once decisions have been made on the schedule and procedure after the resumption of ticket sales.

Regarding the production of SUMMER FESTIVAL OPERA 2019-20 Japan ↔ Tokyo ↔ World Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, we are considering holding it again, in the Fiscal Year 2021. We will provide information on the details as soon as they have been determined. We will not make arrangements for changing ticket dates; instead, we will first pay refunds for all tickets already purchased.

As for our further performances and events, we will continue to refer to the instructions and guidance from government-related institutions and relevant information, and notify patrons as soon as possible of our decisions.
