ONODERA YuSoloist
ONODERA Yu was born in AOMORI Prefecture and trained under Sakuraba Akane, Maki Asami and Kojima Naoya. He enrolled at the New National Theatre Ballet School in 2012. After his career as Junior Artist, he joined the National Ballet of Japan in 2013. She was promoted to First Artist in 2018 and to Soloist in 2023. His repertory includes Hop-o'-My-Thumb in The Sleeping Beauty, Russian in The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, Onyx in David Bintley's Aladdin, Jester in Swan Lake, Verger/The Dormouse in Christpher Wheeldon's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Fleance (Banquo's son) in Will Tuckett's The Tragedy of Macbeth.
