NAKAJIMA ShunyaSoloist
NAKAJIMA Shunya was born in Tokyo. He started ballet under his grandparents, Hisashi Nakajima and Kazue Uno, and joined the National Ballet of Japan as first artist in 2014. He performed Coppelius in Roland Petit's "Coppelia" in 2020 to great acclaim. His repertory includes Herr Drosselmeyer in Wayne Eagling's "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King", Gold in Sir David Bintrey's "Aladdin", the Keeper of Time in Moriyama Kaiji's "RYUUGUU", Lorenzo in "Don Quixote", Von Rothbart in Sir Peter Wright's "Swan Lake", and Magician/The Mad Hatter in Christopher Wheeldon's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". He was promoted to soloist in 2022.
